Our History

Hair Professionals Career College, established in 1979 by Wanda Zachary, started as a small beauty school in Oswego, Illinois, with a class of 100 students. With her experience as a professional and educator, Zachary recognized the need for formal training in the beauty industry beyond on-the-job learning. Through nationwide beauty competitions in the 1980s, Hair Professionals gained recognition, leading to the opening of our Sycamore and Palos Hills campuses. Today, we are proud to be accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career and Science and offer comprehensive programs taught by skilled instructors. As an integral part of our community, we value our relationships and professional partnerships that have empowered our students to excel.

Mission Statement

Our staff of licensed instructors, combined with a state-licensed facility, is dedicated to job training for the beauty industry. Each student, after completing their course of training, will be able to demonstrate job entry skills in required subjects, take and pass a final school examination in both theoretical and practical skills and qualify for examination to obtain an Illinois license, if applicable.

I truly appreciate the instructor/ teacher. She just knows what she's talking about, very easy going and gives the students clear instructions!
