How to Pay for Beauty School

Financial Aid

According to the Federal Student Aid website, “Federal Student Aid is responsible for managing the student financial assistance programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. These programs provide grants, loans, and work-study funds to students attending college or career school.”

That means that, if you qualify, you may be eligible to receive a certain amount of funding to pay for your education at Hair Pros in the form of a grant, loan, or work-study fund. To start the process, first get an FSA ID. Your FSA ID is your username and password that is used to login to view your federal aid documents. Click here to get started setting up your FSA ID.

Once you’ve setup your login information, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). You’ll need a variety of personal information to complete the application, including:

• Your FSA ID.
• Your Social Security Number (SSN).
• If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will need your Alien Registration Number.
• Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and any other records of money earned.
• Bank statements or records of investments if you have them.
• Records of untaxed income if applicable.
• The school code for the school of your choice. (Hair Pros Oswego Campus: 015970. Sycamore Campus: 016504. Palos Hills Campus: 025877.)

Everyone should fill out a FAFSA®, whether or not they believe they qualify. It’s always worth a try to find out if you will qualify for some type of aid.

What Happens After I Fill Out My Application?

There is a waiting period that can last anywhere between three days and three weeks. After the waiting is over, you’ll receive a Student Aid Report(SAR), which will contain all the info you submitted for the application. After verifying all your info, your school will calculate how much aid you can receive and you will receive what is sometimes called an award letter, that lets you know what you qualified for.

Year-Round Scholarship Opportunities

Hair Pros not only offers scholarships for new students, but we also have scholarships for returning alumni! Our alumni scholarships range in value from $1,500 to $2,500 depending on your needs and wants.

How Do I Receive a Scholarship?
