Why We Encourage Dual Licensing

Did you know?

In the state of Illinois, you are allowed to carry 2 licenses. The order in which you get them doesn’t matter, but trust us, you’ll want both when you hear about all of the advantages!

How to Get Multiple Licenses

  1. Complete a Cosmetology or Esthetics Program
  2. Pass Your State Boards
  3. Enroll in Additional Program of Choice
  4. Pass the Additional State Boards
  5. Be AWESOME!

Why You Should Consider Becoming a Dually Licensed Professional

The short answer is this: when you get multiple licenses, you can offer more services as a professional. If you decide to work in a full-service salon or spa, you could spend part of your day doing relaxing facials and the rest of the day creating unique cuts. When you can offer more, employers tend to see that as an advantage!

If you really want to take advantage of being dually licensed, we highly suggest enrolling in courses one after another. If you graduate from our Cosmetology Program, pass your boards, and then immediately enroll in esthetics, you can learn everything you want to in a shorter amount of time versus waiting a few years in between. If you go to school full time, you can do both licenses in as little as a year and a half. Our Cosmetology Program typically takes 1 year, and our Esthetics Program usually takes 6 months.

Remember: there is always room for advancement. The only place to go is up!
